Hammurabi, the king of a city-state called Babylon. Hammurabi was king for 42 years making 282 laws all written in cuneiform. Together these 282 carved onto a large stone making up what we know now it as Hammurabi’s code. Hammurabi’s code was not just because some of the laws were not only overly exaggerated towards those accused of commiting a crime, but also the consequences of the implied crimes were unfair and brutal when seen through the 21st century aspect.
Even though Hammurabi seemed to have good intentions of the codes to protect the weak from the strong as well as the widowsand the orphans, these laws seem quite harsh (Doc B). For instance, laws were literally written on stone
