South Africa a country once in denial are now pushing the leaders of the country to address the problems of the disease HIV and AIDS. The HIV/AIDS epidemic has devastatingly affected the South African population. The acronym HIV stands for “Human Immunodeficiency Virus”. The Virus is transmitted by bodily fluids. HIV affects the body by weakening the immune system, which then can turn in to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, AIDS, which is the final stage when HIV has progressed worse. The development of AIDS from HIV takes about 5 to 8 years, but can be prevented or postponed by getting the proper care and proper medicine.
