Studies have shown that Starbucks organization is using flatter organizing structure. This organization is having a wide span of control. In wide span of control there will be large number of subordinates under the manager’s control. As we know, Starbucks does work with geographical departmentalization as well the zone offices oversee the regional operations of the retail stores and provide support in human resource management, account management, financial management, facilities management and sales management. The connection between the zone offices and each retail stores is the district managers visit from 8- 10 stores apiece so that stores used to oversee. Apparently, the span of control has decreased in order for the managers to work more efficiently, effectively and productively
